Dr.Mulugeta Seyoum

Mulugeta Seyoum is a senior Linguist with proper academic and professional experiences. He has conducted various studies, participated in, and organized a number of international and national conferences on linguistics and related issues, and has been awarded certificates for attending different workshops, participating in different committees such as the Promotion, Employment etc., Committees. He had also been working in different administrative zones at different levels, where a lot of languages are spoken and different cultures are reflected.

He was also the head of Lexicography, Terminology and Translation Centre in the Academy until March 2015. He serves the Academy as Deputy Director,Interim Directory, Director and the project lead person of the Academy project granted by an international organization the Christensen Fund. Furthermore, he is the Principal investigator for the adaptive problem solving research project entitled "Orthography development of the Maale Language" and the Principal investigator for the adaptive problem solving research project entitled "Orthography development of the Dime Language". He is further a Principal investigator for the thematic research project entitled "Description and Documentation of Languages and Cultures in Kefa Zone" grant awarded by Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer office, AAU in 2016. He is currently an associate professor in Linguistics at Addis Ababa University and he is actively engaged in advising, research and teaching both graduate and undergraduate students.
