Dr.Tariku Nigatu

Dr. Tariku Nigatu is public health specialist with 18 years of experience in Africa. He earned his first degree in public health from Haromaya University and his Masters and Ph.D. from University of Gondar in 2008 and 2019, respectively. He also obtained graduate level certificates from the University of Washington in the USA and the Foundation for Professional development (FPD) in South Africa.

Dr. Tariku has worked as a health center director, as an academician, researcher, evaluator, knowledge management leader and program implementer in government, private and international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) assuming increasing levels of responsibilities. Dr. Tariku served as a member of the Ethiopian National Research Advisory Council (RAC) on Maternal and Child Health at the Federal Ministry of Health, coordinated country eLearning program for the Global Foundation for Medical Education and Research (GFMER) and worked as e-learning faculty for the Mayo Clinic, USA.

Dr. Tariku has published various peer reviewed research papers in renowned local and international journals. He has authored and co-authored various technical and program briefs in areas of family planning, maternal, newborn and child health, HIV/AIDS and adolescent sexual reproductive health among others targeting decision makers at national and subnational levels. Dr. Tariku is Proficient in many analytical software including: EpiData, EPIinfo, SPSS, AMOS, and STATA.
